Network TV is experiencing a resurgence of nostalgia, with the 50th edition of 'Survivor' and the revival of 'Scrubs' attracting solid ratings. On Wednesday night, the supersized 'Survivor 50' premiere averaged 5.06 million viewers over three hours, marking the biggest same-day audience for a Survivor episode since season 45 in December 2023. This performance also delivered CBS's best Wednesday night ratings since the season 42 finale in May 2022. The show's success extended to the 18-49 demographic, with a 0.95 rating (equivalent to 1.29 million people) and a 1.22 rating among adults 25-54 (1.53 million viewers), both leading primetime on Wednesday. 'Scrubs', which premiered with two episodes on ABC, drew 4.41 million viewers and a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic, setting a new record for any network comedy in its regular time slot this season. The second episode averaged 3.52 million viewers and a 0.55 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and the reruns in the 10 p.m. hour averaged 1.32 million viewers. Following 'Scrubs', ABC premiered 'The Greatest Average American', hosted by Nate Bargatze, which improved on 'The Golden Bachelor's' ratings in the same spot last fall.
